What is Botox?
The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin often referred to as Botox is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces the activity of the muscles that cause the frown lines between the brows, forehead creases, and crow’s feet near the eyes. One ten minute treatment of a few tiny injections will result in noticeably reduced fine lines and wrinkles, within 2-3 days to a week and can last 3 – 6 months.
What Do I Need to Know Before a Treatment?
- Patients taking aspirin, Ibuprofen or other blood thinners may experience increased bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
- For similar reasons, we advise that you avoid alcohol prior to a treatment.
- Headache may occur.
- Some redness may occur immediately after treatment but will diminish quickly.
